There are a lot of Christians that would say if you start with the commonalities between Islam and Christianity, you do end up with a God that has a profound amount of similarities (though not identical by any means). Miroslav Volf has a wonderful book called Allah that approaches this topic from a sympathetic Christian standpoint.
I like Greg’s response and acknowledgement that Muslims can inherit salvation without a cognitive understanding of Jesus’ salvific message, but i think there are a lot more positive statements that can be made to branch the divide that some people have created between these two faiths.

Didn’t he mean the Passover? Whenever you have Passover, “do this in remembrance of me?” Because it was Passover, wasn’t it?
