In March 2011 every child and many of the adults in the village of Lougou, Haiti received a bottle for clean water from members of a medical mission team from Woodland Hills. But when they received their water bottles, there was no safe drinking water to put in them. Three months later, that has changed.

Love Makes Cents (LMC) is more than a catchy title! LMC started 4 years ago as a way for kids in Heroes Gate to connect with peers in Haiti. Heroes Gate works with Woodland Hills partner ministry, COFHED, and the village development committee of Lougou to meet a tangible need.

We just kicked off our Water for Haiti campaign last weekend and have gotten some great feedback! A few people have asked for an easy way to let friends or family members know that a donation has been made in their name. Other folks asked for an easy way to let people know that they’d appreciate a donation to Water for Haiti instead of a gift. We’d like to help with that.

Jesus was born a subversive King. He was born to show the world the true Kingdom and the True God, and in so doing, showed the world how the Roman kingdom was false. In the spirit of Jesus’ subversive intention, Greg shows us a way to be subversive with the Christmas culture of the western world.
We hope to raise $21,000 during the four weeks before Christmas in order to dig a well and establish clean water distribution in the village of Lougou and also to provide clean water for thousands of families in Cite Soleil for four months.
