Woodland Hills supports many missionaries who share God’s love around the world. Click on the links below to learn more about some of these missionaries and how you can support them. Due to the sensitive nature of some missionaries’ ministries, we cannot publish information about all of them. Carlos & Melissa Urquia

Carlos & Melissa Urquia
  • The Urquia family (Carlos, Melissa, Giovanni, Saul, Riqui and baby due in January 2009) are working with YWAM and are based out of Siguatepeque, Honduras. Their ministry focus is working with youth in the area of discipleship, evangelism and missions training. They also serve in the area of mercy ministries. 

Dan & May Workman

Dan & May Workman
  • The Workmans are in Rennes, France, working with Campus Crusade to help Western European countries reach students online with the gospel. They also help the local campus ministry in Rennes and are excited to see God working in students’ lives!

Dave & Heidi

Dave & Heidi
  • Dave and Heidi live in Paris, France and work with AGAPE (Campus Crusade for Christ Europe). They are ministering to the 600,000 university students in Paris and hoping to see “Lost students turned into Christ centered Laborers.”

Ivana Cooper

Ivana Cooper
  • Ivana is a full time missionary at Living Hope International in Puebla, Mexico. She works with children that come off the streets and would otherwise have no home. The ministry’s goal is to give them a healthy, loving, God-centered environment where they can learn and grow in life and in their walk with God. Ivana is a dormitory supervisor in the little boys’ dorm where the kids range in age from 6-8 years old. She lives in the dorm with the children, one other supervisor and two helpers. She also works in the child sponsorship department where they manage all correspondence with child sponsors.

Jason Cutshall

Jason Cutshall
  • Jason Cutshall recently graduated with his Mdiv degree from Bethel Seminary.  He currently works as Coordinator for Europe Operations for Christian Associates International (CAI).  Jason works to support the 25 existing church plants throughout Europe, while also trying to support new church plants that are arising.  Living in The Hague, Netherlands, Jason attends Crossroads International Church of The Hague.  Crossroads is a church plant that CAI started over 10 years ago and now is a thriving church.  At Crossroads, Jason serves in Pastoral support and guidance for the small groups ministry, works with ALPHA, and occasionally speaks at the Sunday morning service.  Follow Jason on his blog.

Jerry & Susy McNally
  • Jerry and Susy are the founders of Esperanza Viva (Living Hope International), a children's home in Puebla, Mexico. More information is available on their web site.

Jim & Sue Renno

Jim & Sue Renno
  • Jim and Sue are involved in personally training and discipling those who have a heart to minister to the masses who have not heard the Gospel in the nations of the world.

Joanie Peterson

  • Joanie is involved in church planting and community development among the Samogo people in the village of Kawara, Burkina Faso, West Africa.

Karl & Kristen

Karl & Kristen
  • Karl and Kristen, Jemma and Tor are based in Island Southeast Asia with a Bible translation organization.  Their passion: “Let them give glory to the Lord and proclaim his praise in the islands” (and may the islanders do that in their heart languages). Karl’s special role is language assessment – helping the church understand which areas need Bible translation the most.  Kristen has been involved in the equally-important task of homeschooling Jemma and Tor. Karl & Kristen thank you for partnering with them and ask that you would pray that they would know God more and make him known among the nations.

Kevin & Kathy Johnson

  • Kevin and Kathy are serving European church planting with Christian Associates International Kevin is the regional director for Ireland and the United Kingdom and is working to establish new and vibrant missional churches throughout the British Isles.  With only 2-3% of the European population following Jesus, this vast mission field, often referred to as 'post-Christian', is strikingly open to a new move of the Spirit.  Kevin works to raise and send out new church planting teams and with the help of Kathy, provide ongoing support an encouragement to those already in place.

Mark & Melinda Cathey

Mark & Melinda Cathey
  • Mark serves as International Regional Director, Europe & Russia, Church Resource Ministries (CRM), shepherding CRM mission teams that develop leaders to strengthen and start churches. CRM staff envision movements of fresh, authentic churches, pioneered by godly leaders, fired by a passion for their world, compelled to multiply their lives and ministries so that the name of God is renowned among the nations. Melinda is the founder and Executive Director, The Harbor, CRM. The Harbor is a two-year residential program for graduate orphans in Russia. The mission of the Harbor is to prepare orphans for successful integration into society by addressing five core areas of need, as follows: education, vocational training, life skills, counseling and spiritual formation.

Mike & Heather Tacheny

Mike & Heather Tacheny
  • Mike and Heather Tacheny are both physicians who are sharing the love of Christ while working as medical doctors in Shell, Ecuador.

Nick & Madeleine Avignon

Nick & Madeleine Avignon
  • Nick and Madeleine are Haitian-born Americans who have been doing mission work in the village of Lougou, southern Haiti, especially in the area of community-led development and Christian discipleship training.

Ron & Linda Pitzen

Ron & Linda Pitzen
  • Ron, Linda and the kids (Rebecca, Daniel and Stephanie) live and minister full-time in the country of Belize in Central America. They are a family with various gifts and considerable experience, working in family-centered ministries. For Ron and Linda, the call includes working with the adults of troubled marriages and counseling single and married people to more effectively parent their children. They see themselves soon working also with troubled kids. Rebecca, Daniel and Stephanie are focusing their ministries in the areas of Campus Ministry in local schools and community youth outreach. Stephanie is working diligently in her twelfth year of education and only part time in ministry. The family believe that by beginning ministries and then training the people of Belize to take them over they are living in the tradition of 2 Tim 2:2 and fulfilling their call to the Great Commission.

Ryan & Molly Nielsen

Ryan & Molly Nielsen
  • The Nielsens are full-time missionaries serving Living Hope International in Puebla, Mexico. Living Hope is a residential youth home for orphaned, abandoned and hurting children which has about 100 children under its full-time care. They moved to Puebla in October 2003 to begin serving. A little over a year later, in November 2004, they quickly returned to Minnesota when their son, Josiah, was diagnosed with Leukemia, a cancer of the blood. For the next three and a half years, the Nielsens served as stateside representatives for the organization, while Josiah went through over three years of chemotherapy treatment. Josiah finished treatment in January 2008 and has only a small chance that the cancer will ever return. PRAISE GOD! The Nielsens returned to Puebla, Mexico in September 2008 to continue the call God has place on their hearts – to “serve the least of these” (Matthew 25:40).

Tim & Huyen Bartholomew

Tim & Huyen Bartholomew
  • Tim and Huyen Bartholomew are physicians who have worked in Ngoaundere, Cameroon for a number of years as part of PAACS (Pan African Academy of Christian Surgeons).  They recently moved to work at a Women's and Children's Hospital in West Africa.
