Four things that Jesus accomplished by becoming a human being:
- He made atonement for the sins of the people. God took on human flesh and paid the price for us. If we say yes to God, sin isn't the issue. We move out of sin because of our transformation, not as a precondition to salvation. Incarnation ? we are made one with God.
- He was the trailblazer, setting the example for how we, as believers, are supposed to live. We are to be disciples ? disciiplined ones who look to the master. We are called to live a life very different than if we were not called to be disciples of Christ. Believers are supposed to live from a fullness of the inside, not trying to sup every bit of life from the world. If you lose your life, you find it.
- He became a man to beat up the devil. Jesus came down to earth out of love, and the devil didn't get it. So, the devil had the Lord crucified and it backfired against the devil. All the degradation on us through the fall was nailed to the cross through Jesus. We were redeemed and set free while the enemy is defeated.
- He wanted to reveal His love by doing what love always does; which is to enter into the world of the beloved. Paricarious ? Greek word. (to envelope, wrap around, the mutual indwelling of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). God is one being, manifested in three ways: as Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. God created the world out of love, and created human beings in His image. We were to have an indwelling with God. We crave relationships with one another.
