Class – Sankofa and Sawubona: Anti-racism in the Beloved Community

Thursday October 1, 2020 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 7:30 pm on Thursday, repeating until Thursday October 8, 2020

So many of us are interested in exploring anti-racism, and given the current climate, it’s important now more than ever. In this class we’ll take a different approach to the anti-racism conversation to ground it in what we are moving towards: a vision of belonging, flourishing and restoration (i.e. the Kingdom of God) as described by Dr. Martin Luther King’s ideas of the Beloved Community.

Participants will have weekly homework in the form of a short article or podcast to listen to. Each class will include lecture, Q&A (not live, but facilitated by the chat feature), and a time of prayer.

"We have been podrishioners for several months. Our daughter, son-in-law and grandkids moved back to California after living in MN for 10 years. They attended Woodland Hills for about a year before they moved. Now we all go to the beach together on Thursdays, come home and have dinner together, then we watch last Sunday’s sermon together. It is a special day for our family."

– Dale and Patricia, from California
