One of the events we look forward to every year is Martin Luther King, Jr weekend. As a church, we seek the kind of racial reconciliation and healing that Dr. King pursued in his life and activism. Each year leading up to Christmas, Heroes Gate (Woodland’s children’s ministry) decorates Christmas trees with mittens, teddy bears and red circle ornaments. Though the trees are beautiful, they serve a much greater purpose than just spreading holiday cheer. Each ornament represents a gift for a child in need. Recipients include WH attendees, The Refuge, The LIFT, Close to My Heart (preschool), Voice in the Wilderness, and other ministries. Read More
