As you watch, here are the two main things Daniel Churchill, Emerging Generations Pastor, wants you to know about Echo:
Everyone Belongs
“We put a huge emphasis on making sure everyone is included, noticed and brought in. We don’t just say, ‘Hey, we’re glad you’re here,’ and walk away. We want to say, ‘Hey, we’re glad you’re here and now I want to bring you into this.’ A lot of kids go to youth group and find all the people already know each other and they’re on the outside. Echo isn’t a closed circle; we see you and we want you here.”
Students Lead!
“We don’t want to be all adult-led, instead we’re empowering and equipping students to own this ministry and be the ones who are inspiring other students to get involved and stick around. Catalysts, our student leaders, do more than set up chairs and run games. We want them to make the connections, we tell them, ‘Years later when someone tells their story, you can be the one who accepted them. You have no idea how much power you wield for good to do that.’ It’s a beautiful thing!”
