Arts Group

The Woodland Hills Arts Group seeks to explore how our creative expressions and perspectives as artists integrate with faith and advance God’s Kingdom.

Whether you’re a creator, an admirer, or are just plain interested in learning more about art and faith, welcome! Our group hosts periodic events and gatherings (listed below); to learn more or get involved, you can sign up for our email list at the bottom of this page.

Makerspace Tour: Sunday, April 19

Arts Group member, Tim Bednar, has offered to give us a tour of the makerspace that he uses at Twin Cities Maker. We’ll be meeting up on Sunday, April 19 at noon for a private tour of the workshops with all their cool tools and equipment. More details here!

Art in Bloom: Saturday, April 25

The Arts Group will be going to the Minneapolis Institute of Art (Mia) on Saturday, April 25th at 10am for the annual Art in Bloom event where florists create arrangements inspired by art in the museum. We’ll be meeting up by the car drop-off at Mia’s front entrance. Street parking is limited, so plan to come early enough to find a spot and walk. If you’re running late, call (651)287-2077.

Art Feedback Workshop: Sunday, May 17

After church on Sunday, May 17, we’re offering space for input and collaboration amongst Arts Group members. Feel free to bring a piece that is in process or even finished and let fellow creatives share how your art speaks to them. If you don’t have any work to share, just bring yourself! We’ll be meeting in North A from 11:30am-1:30pm, but may end early depending on how much work people bring.

Grateful Heart booklets

If you’re interested, you can check out some of the works from our community in our past Grateful Heart companion booklets. Grateful Heart is an event we’ve held in anticipation of Thanksgiving, as an opportunity for us to reflect on gratitude through artistic expression.

"Just a note of thanks. I came across the site, having heard Greg speak in Ireland many moons ago. The church here is a bit jaded, we have found. Groupthink, lack of going deep, fear, perhaps, of facing tough questions. [WH has] great sermons, and not just from Greg. Real food for a somewhat undernourished Irish Christian. Keep it up! Ian from Ireland"
