A Post-Election Letter

Posted on

Hi folks,

Well, the election is over and as a country, changes are likely coming. But for Jesus followers, our fundamental reality hasn’t changed.

Whether you voted or not, and whether your “side” won or not, when you rolled out of bed this morning, your assignment as a Kingdom ambassador didn’t change.

When you got dressed, your call to love your enemies didn’t change.

When you ate breakfast, your source of hope didn’t change.

When you brushed your teeth, the final victory of Jesus didn’t change.

And when you walked out the door, your call to live in love, as Christ loved you and gave his life for you, did not change.

Our call remains the same, because Jesus remains the same, yesterday, today and forever.

Election cycles come and go.

Politicians appear and then disappear.

Political parties fall in and out of favor.

And yes, even great nations rise and sooner or later, they fall.

The one rock of assurance on which we stand is Jesus Christ, for everything else is sinking sand.

In the wake of a divisive election, I pray we all remain firmly anchored in Christ Jesus, the only hope of the world.

In him,
Greg

Thank you, Pastor Boyd! I needed to hear that. I thank God for the beautiful way He has ministered through you to touch my heart over and over again, to help my heart heal when I was devastated at the loss of my son, to encourage me, to challenge me, and to help me grow in my faith. I truly don’t know where I would be today if my husband hadn’t found Woodland Hills Church and you. Thank you for your willingness to be used by God to build His kingdom. You are a blessing!!

Thanks, Greg! I’ve already given up on politics mainly because of friends I lost over these last 2 decades. From Iraq war to economic class warfare, nothings changed…except me!
Praise Father God for His blessings upon us all!

  3. Sarah says:

Many Christians, such as 81% white evangelicals, voted for a president who never reflects Jesus. How many of them truly are on solid ground? Are ignoring the “co-opt-faith” deception we can easily get into??

"It's been so supportive to have a journey group leader since 7th grade that I have made a lasting relationship with for 6 years. She has helped me grow in my faith and has been there to check in!"
