This Sunday marks the beginning of the traditional Advent season preceding Christmas. It’s a time of year when Christians across the world of various denominations and backgrounds take time to prepare their hearts for the message of Christ’s birth. Amidst the flurry of Christmas shopping, parties and outings, and cookie baking and eating, we encourage you and your family to intentionally make time this Advent season to talk about and celebrate what Christmas truly is about.
To help you do so, we want to share some Advent resources. This first week, we want to introduce you to some free downloadable materials from Sally Lloyd Jones her award-winning Jesus Storybook Bible, which we love! You can find out more and download 24 days of beautiful illustrations and Biblical stories told in kid-friendly terms that all connect to the Christmas narrative here.
Also, we invite you and your family to help us kick off the Advent season with some holiday fun and cheer at our annual Following the Light Advent Event this Friday, December 1st, at 7pm. The event is free, fun for all ages, and includes cookies and fellowship afterwards. You can even bring your own favorite family Christmas treats to add to the selection!
