Come and See: Sacred Settlement Tours!

For years we’ve followed the work of our partner organization, Settled, and their creative vision for addressing chronic homelessness with small communities of tiny homes. After interacting with Settled, the church felt called to pursue the possibility of creating a Sacred Settlement. Throughout the summer Woodland and Settled met regularly with Faith Lutheran’s leadership team, helping them navigate this topic with their members. Read More

Tiny Home, Big Splash!

Construction of this first home enabled Settled to reach many of their goals: successfully using volunteer labor, achieving safety certification, meeting Minnesota climate insulation standards, sticking to their budget and creating a manual for future construction teams to use. In other words, the house has made a great transition from theory to reality! Read More

Tiny Home Makes Its First Public Appearance!

Last weekend, thousands of youth from around the country came to Minneapolis for the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod conference. 1,200 of them participated in an interactive experience on homelessness, including a visit to the tiny house prototype built by Woodland volunteers in collaboration with the nonprofit, Settled.
