We value the families we have at Woodland and want to do all we can to walk alongside them as they raise their children in God’s love. One of the things we do is give parents an opportunity to dedicate their child. Child dedication is a time when parents give back to God the gift he has given to them and commit to raising their child in a Christ-centered home.
Child dedication is a practice modeled throughout the Bible (I Samuel 1:24-28; Luke 2:21-40). It is also different from baptism. We believe that baptism should take place after a person, whether adult or child, makes a personal decision to follow Jesus.
We invite any parent(s) to consider child dedication, regardless of how long you have regularly attended Woodland, or how long you have been a Christian.
There are currently no Celebration of Life Dedication Dates scheduled, but please contact Paula at pbowlby@whchurch.org if you’re interested!
