Rebuild Homes in Disaster Areas

Mennonite Disaster Service is a volunteer network of Anabaptist churches dedicated to responding to natural and man-made disasters. MDS volunteers provide the skills and labor needed to respond, rebuild and restore homes in the wake of a tragedy. Through their service, they assist the most vulnerable community members, individuals and families who would not otherwise have the means to recover. In addition to working in other areas, MDS volunteers continue to rebuild communities struck by Hurricanes Michael and Florence, and are rebuilding homes destroyed by wildfires in California and British Columbia. Learn more at mds.mennonite.net.

$10,000 of our goal will support MDS and their work in disaster areas. Funds will be used to help cover volunteer costs (dormitory-style lodging, meals, tools, equipment and transportation between work camps and house recovery projects) and building materials for house recovery projects.

"We have been podrishioners for several months. Our daughter, son-in-law and grandkids moved back to California after living in MN for 10 years. They attended Woodland Hills for about a year before they moved. Now we all go to the beach together on Thursdays, come home and have dinner together, then we watch last Sunday’s sermon together. It is a special day for our family."
