The need
At Woodland Hills, it’s always been our practice to let our church community know when we have financial needs, and trust that God will work through all of us to meet those needs. Well, we find ourselves in one of those situations now.
Our offerings are currently about $91,500 behind budget for our current fiscal year, which ends in June. And our leadership teams are working to plan a budget for next fiscal year, cautiously watching to see if our current offering trends continue. Before we make decisions that would negatively impact our ministries, we want to put our financial need out there. It’s an honor to be a part of what God is doing in the world, and through our church. And we want to see that impact continue!
$3,800 per week
We’ve done the math, and our offerings have dipped by an average of $3,800 per week. If we can increase our offerings and eliminate this deficit, we’re confident that we’ll have the resources to keep our ministry areas running without interruption — both through June and into next fiscal year. So we’re hoping you’ll take a fresh look at how you give, and consider helping us close this gap!
Donation schedules = Consistent giving
Regular, repeating financial contributions are extremely helpful in budgeting situations like these. It’s pretty simple: we’re able to plan our budget much more accurately if we can forecast how much people plan to give. With that in mind, we’re asking:
- Will you consider signing up for a new donation schedule online? (Or, if you prefer to give by cash or check, complete a commitment card?)
- If you’re already on a donation schedule, will you consider an increase in your giving?
This is do-able!
Increasing our weekly offerings by $3,800 could happen in a number of ways, but it will likely be because a lot of people work together. For example, we can reach our goal if 190 people make new or increased commitments of $20 per week. As Greg has said before, giving at WH has usually been like a bunch of ants working together to carry a big log. We hope you’ll join in the log-moving, and keep the ministries and mission of Woodland strong!
