Our heart is to create places of welcome through hospitality and community.
For over 20 years, we have been traveling throughout the United States working with the Jesus Kitchen to bring radical hospitality to the traveling counter-culture here in America. We attend Rainbow Gatherings, which are annual gatherings of temporarily loosely knit communities including homeless travelers, hippies, those who practice other forms of religion and people from all walks of life. We gather in national forests around the country for one or more weeks at a time. While there, we set up the Jesus Kitchen as a place of welcome to connect with and serve those we meet. We cook yummy meals to share with everyone, provide filtered drinking water, offer a place to get warm by the campfire, host skill shares and have a prayer tent where all are welcome.
For years, we have had it on our hearts to have a safe place of welcome where we can offer hospitality, rest, and discipleship to those who are on their own spiritual journeys not only out on the road but also in a more permanent location. We hope that through intentional community, healing gardens, and an openness to welcoming people from all walks of life, we can create a permanent place of welcome that is tailored to those who live in the margins.
