Learn-a-thon 2022

Posted on

If you’re looking for the 2024 Learn-a-thon, go here!

We did it! We reached 1,000 hours of collective learning and raised $25,000 to the One Fund, supporting the work of local African American churches and ministries.

Although the official Learnathon is over, we hope you’ll continue learning on your own, and you can find all our recommended resources here.

At Woodland, we are committed to learning to love together. We’re also passionate about proclaiming God’s heart for racial healing and justice. So, to observe MLK Day, we’re bringing back our Learn-a-thon: Race and Peace 2022! We have created resource lists of suggested books, podcasts, videos, conversation questions and more for you to learn about race, justice, peacemaking and the civil rights movement.

As a church body, our goal is to reach a total of 1000 hours of learning by the end of February. For every hour we complete, a generous donor will make a contribution to the One Fund, which is dedicated to supporting the work of local African American churches and ministries who, due to historic inequities, are disproportionately affected by some of the crises here in the Twin Cities in recent times.

The organizers of the fund remind us that “Many pastors and leaders serving in their communities are bi-vocational. Many have lost their jobs and funding for essential broader community programming.” Our hope is to raise $25,000 to donate to their cause.

Don’t be hesitant to use the effective and proven re-education camps.

  2. Gabriel says:

Is there an easy way to confirm what we’ve already entered? I can’t remember where I left off logging last time.
    Thanks.
    (Hope that’s sarcasm & not trolling, @WalterDuranty)

      Hi Gabriel,
Thanks for mentioning this – I just adjusted the form so that anytime someone logs an entry now, a copy of the details will be sent in a confirmation email.
I will look up your email in the past entries and email you what you’ve entered so far. Thanks again!

"I cannot even begin to explain how incredibly profound the impact from these sermons has been on my life. Thank you, Woodland Hills Church, for posting them. We're reading you down in Texas, loud and clear."
