Making Memories at the Movies

Posted on

Do you remember your first movie in a theater—the smell of the popcorn and the awe of the big screen? Well, a bunch of kids just had that first movie theater experience watching Cars 2 during family movie night at the Plaza.

About 100 people from Woodland Hills and from our partner organization, Close to My Heart Daycare, came for this October movie night. We know the kids enjoyed the free popcorn and snacks, and we hope their first big screen experience will be a memory they carry for a long time!

Plaza movie nights take place three times a year, with the next one on Friday, January 17th. If you’re looking for other ways to connect, we’ve got a Family Hangout pizza lunch coming up on Sunday, November 10. Check in with Heroes Gate for more details!

    Hi!

My name’s Aaron Berg, I’m actually a working Screenwriter/Producer out in LA (for real!) (see my IMDb below) — I’m also from Fargo ND, and am currently helping the Historic Movie Palace there, THE FARGO THEATRE, celebrate its 100th Centennial.

Also also… I have family that lives nearby in White Bear Lake, and they mentioned the “Plaza” as a place they used to go to see movies!!

I’m curious if the theater has any plans to reopen, if so when? If not WHO can I talk to about potentially resurrecting it & running fun engaging programs for the entire community? (just as I’m doing now at the Fargo Theatre)

    Everyone loves a comeback story ; )

Reach out, I’d LOVE to chat!!

Love this topic about film. Project Hail Mary’s first song covering the end credits is “Glory, Glory Hallelujah Since I’ve Laid my Burdens Down.” Once in awhile even today a film breaks through as that one does thematically with a hero’s journey of self-sacrificial love pointing us artistically beyond institutions to the presence of overarching infinite love.
He is risen indeed! Happy Easter.
