Local Listener Profile: Melissa Johnson

Melissa is also opening the door for impactful conversations with other like-minded beauty ambassadors on a podcast she started. She’s chatting with people from all backgrounds with a passion for change. Melissa’s ideas aren’t just for women; men play a huge role in cultivating and reflecting God’s eternal beauty. Melissa recently had a conversation with Jonathan Self, an English-based photographer who loves capturing people’s hearts and their God-given essence. His unique approach to photography results in amazing transformation and empowerment. Many clients come to him feeling ugly and insecure in their own skin, so he strives to reveal how God feels about them. Read More

Podrishioner Profile: Mike & Deb Lundeen

Mike and Deb have a small ministry in Woodland Park, Colorado where they encourage individuals and couples to practice solitude retreats. Podrishioner Profile: Chris, Denise and Rachel

Both Rachel and her dad discovered Woodland through Greg’s books. Chris says, “What I like about WH is the stance on simply loving others and social justice, as well as openness to questions. It’s good to hear other ideas.” Rachel agreed, saying, “Woodland has answered questions I’ve had for so long and kept me spiritually healthy during a difficult time.” Read More

Podrishioner Profile: Emily & Andy Wagner

Since the COVID shut down began in March, the Wagners from Pennsylvania have been watching Woodland’s sermons every Sunday morning with their young sons Charlie and Drew. Charlie’s still a baby, so he drinks his breakfast during church, while Drew (7) plays with Legos and asks a lot of questions. Sometimes his questions extend past Sunday’s live stream into the next week. Emily and Andy are very open to exploring these questions because their families encouraged them to seek out truth when they were young. Read More

Eyes in the Waiting

2020 – what a year. It has been a year of change and adaptation, of distance and longing, of learning new things and facing ancient sins, of divided families and online opinions, of increased fear and decreased celebrations, of tough conversations and life-changing decisions. It’s been a year like no other.

Yet, at the same time, this year is really nothing new. Read More

Local Listener: Pam Taylor

Pam wouldn’t necessarily describe herself as a risk-taker. She says, “It’s actually extremely difficult for me to make the effort to do things that are out of my comfort zone.”  But this Fall, she threw caution to the wind and checked off something very daring from her Bucket List: skydiving. Simple Pleasures

It’s a bit of an understatement to say Summer was a bummer. Now that Fall’s here, days are shorter, nights are longer and many of us are feeling the  unpleasant fog of 2020 even more. We might feel “down in the mouth,” even if our frowns are hidden behind patterned masks. The weight of the world is pretty heavy these days as the news regularly reminds us. Though it’s good to be mindful and globally aware, it’s also healthy to take a break every now and then. Dwelling on darkness too long can send us spiraling into despair.  Read More

Local Listener: Justin Kay

Justin was not raised with religion, so his world was rocked when he first came to understand God’s character. Around 2006, he was open to believing in a higher power, but had no understanding of God or the Bible. Later on, in an AA meeting he was invited to a service at Woodland by his friend, Kevin. He remembers feeling welcomed and experiencing church in a completely different way than ever before. Read More

"My counselor zeroed in on the root causes of my anxiety, explaining the mechanisms of why I was feeling the way I was, and what to do about it. She was very loving and compassionate and approached my situation with a technical mindset as well. A very rare combination."
