In this sermon with Greg, we get deep into talking about facing fears and problems, but not succumbing to them. Often times when we or ones we love go through hard times, along come four different crowds of people offering various “you’ll get through it” type remarks. Though when life falls apart and everything comes undone, whether it be you or someone you know, sometimes all you can do is “Embrace the Suck” and just be present. The time may come where you can sort things out, mend, or find some sort of contentment, but sometimes you just need to be there, in the moment.
In this sermon with Greg, we get deep into talking about facing fears and problems, but not succumbing to them. Often times when we or ones we love go through hard times, along come these four different crowds of people:
The “at least you” crowd — “Sorry you can’t have children, but at least you can adopt!”
The “well the Bible says if you have enough faith…” crowd — Yes, the Bible speaks truth but sometimes, truth said in the wrong context can be devastating, and can actually turn into untruth.
The “you just gotta” crowd — Something terrible may have happened, but “you just gotta turn your thoughts onto positive things!”
And finally, the most unfortunate one, the “It’s all for the better” crowd — Who will justify something awful with “there’s a reason for everything” or “it’s all part of God’s plan.”
When life falls apart and everything comes undone, whether it be you or someone you know, sometimes all you can do is “Embrace the Suck” and just be present. The time may come where you can sort things out, mend, or find some sort of contentment, but sometimes you just need to be there, in the moment.

We are all settled in to watch this new Greg and Bam; right off the bat I find that the referenced film clip near the start of the message is X’d out and the link to the video is not here, as far as i can tell. Can you go ahead and add that link or tell me where it’s at? Guess we’ll hold off on watching the rest of the sermon till you can. thanks.
Sorry about that, Kevin. It’s a 30 second clip from the movie Airplane — I’ve included a link to it under “Downloads.” It will just open up to YouTube (it will not actually download.) Thanks for your patience!
