Getting in on the Secret

A mystery is some unknown, something hidden. Wisdom means being able to see into something that is otherwise hidden.

God’s will, which is centered in Christ, is a mystery to the world. It is hidden from those who don’t know Him.

Many people whom the world considers wise are really foolish. Human ‘wisdom’ is opposed to God’s truth. The wisdom of God will seem foolish to the world, and the wisdom of the world is seen as foolishness by God.

God’s will makes sense to the believer because God pours out His wisdom on the believer. Believers are given insight into God’s will. This wisdom is a gift from God, not some achieved by our own efforts at understanding the universe. In fact, attempts to find wisdom on our own will inevitably lead us astray.
