We thank God that he loves us all with an everlasting love. We pray that we would love one another as he loves us, in the midst of our sin.

The Bible says that homosexuality is sin, but that doesn’t justify any prejudice or judgment. We are called to extend love, grace, and acceptance to all sinners without compromising the truth.

Sin feels natural because we are born sinners into a fallen world. That doesn’t mean we have to normalize sin and make it a lifestyle. Being tempted isn’t a sin, acting on it is. The Holy Spirit helps us recognize the old self and the new self. We should support each other as we resist, struggle, and put off the old self, through God’s power.

The Bible says that we are all sinners. The love of God comes to us just as we are. God redeems, changes, and delivers us by the love of Christ.

Focus Scripture:

  • Genesis 2:22-25

1In the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar—when Pontius Pilate was governor of Judea, Herod tetrarch of Galilee, his brother Philip tetrarch of Iturea and Traconitis, and Lysanias tetrarch of Abilene— 2during the high priesthood of Annas and Caiaphas, the word of God came to John son of Zechariah in the desert. 3He went into all the country around the Jordan, preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. 4As is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet:
“A voice of one calling in the desert,
'Prepare the way for the Lord,
    make straight paths for him.
5Every valley shall be filled in,
every mountain and hill made low.
The crooked roads shall become straight,
    the rough ways smooth.
6And all mankind will see God's salvation.'

"My almost-three-year-old asks every day if we can go to church. Thank you, Woodland Hills, and all the Heroes Gate volunteers for creating such a great environment for kids. My husband and I met at WH six years ago and now our son counts down the days until we get to go again. My heart could burst."
