This past Sunday, Heroes Gate families partook in another Family Hangout – this one involving some Spring cleaning!
Families gathered after the service for snacks, followed by some outside-time to collectively pick up litter surrounding our building and parking lot areas.
We got word that the heaviest bag of collected litter was 4.5 pounds! Not only does it look good when outdoor litter is picked up, it helps rid the area of environmental pollution.
It also impacts wildlife by removing harmful materials birds would use for nests, or food packaging left on roadsides, which draws in wildlife putting them at risk of being hit by cars, for example.
One of our Children’s Pastors, Paula, said that, “All kids won for the best attitude because they were all awesome!”
