Children’s Special Needs Buddy

A Special Needs Buddy is an adult who assists a child or a couple of children needing moderate assistance to succeed in Heroes Gate each Sunday. A SN Buddy works with the student’s team leader to help a him or her be actively involved in every part of the morning from free time to team time. Helping a student with comprehension, aiding in transitions, being proactive during distractive moments, interacting with their peers, or suggesting strategies or tips to make a Sunday experience meaningful. Most of all, they provide a loving and patient example for the student.
