Echo Update

Posted on

For the past three weeks, Echo, our ministry for grades 7-12, has met online together. Of course, it’s no surprise that the most tech-savvy age group among us has successfully transitioned to gatherings that definitely adhere to the 6-foot rule!

Instead of meeting at Woodland, Wednesday nights now consist of twenty minutes of live-streamed worship, a message and then virtual meetings of Journey Groups (small groups).

Although it’s not quite the same, “it feels like we’re still all doing it together,” Echo staff member, Ketura Adam shares.

Associate Worship Pastor, Lauren Rostron, says, “Students and leaders gave great positive feedback, a lot of them saying that even though we weren’t in the same room it was so life-giving to feel like they had some sort of connection to Echo on Wednesdays!”

And attendance hasn’t dropped at all! Instead, views and interactions online have increased and even a few Echo alumni have joined in. Lauren says, “God is moving in so many ways, it’s super special.”

Echo’s Wednesday Night Online services have covered the topics of Gratitude, Rest, and Trust. If you weren’t able to join live, you can still catch the messages on Echo’s YouTube channel.

Thank you, Echo staff and students, for your creativity in staying connected. When you get a chance, could you pass on a few Zoom tips to the rest of us?

"I was incredibly blessed by everyone who came out to the clean-up event to serve neighborhood seniors. It literally brought me to tears knowing that there are amazing people out there restoring my hope in what it means to love and serve each other."
