Project Home is Coming

For the past eleven years, Woodland has been honored to act as a Project Home site where we provide overnight shelter for families in need of housing.
This year in March and April, we will be hosting families again and we need your help! If you’d like to volunteer, there are two shifts available: 5:30-8:30pm and an overnight shift from 8pm to morning. It’s a fun night of hanging with the families and providing food and shelter. All supplies and food provided, you just show up.  Read More

The Gift of Giving: Operation Joy

Each year leading up to Christmas, Heroes Gate (Woodland’s children’s ministry) decorates Christmas trees with mittens, teddy bears and red circle ornaments. Though the trees are beautiful, they serve a much greater purpose than just spreading holiday cheer. Each ornament represents a gift for a child in need. Recipients include WH attendees, The Refuge, The LIFT, Close to My Heart (preschool), Voice in the Wilderness, and other ministries. Read More

The Refuge: A Community of Grace and Truth

What I like about it is that it’s not just the twelve steps by itself, but it shows me how to involve my church and my faith at the same time. It also made me feel like I belong, which is the big thing. In recovery it’s hard to feel like you belong, but here I found people I can rely on and who really, truly understand.” Read More

Love Lines

Woodland Hills has hosted Project Home for eleven years now, providing emergency overflow shelter space and volunteer support for families in need. Each year has been uniquely different and rewarding but God’s faithfulness has remained the same. This spring, we witnessed many answered prayers through our amazing volunteers and the precious families residing in these four walls. We are continually reminded that love has no boundaries and home is a place we share—heart to heart. Read More

Walking With A Purpose is here!

This week a new partner organization moved into our building! Since 2014, Walking With A Purpose has gathered clothing, food and camping supplies and given them directly to our chronically homeless neighbors in the St. Paul area. WWAP spends time building relationships with people, finds out what their needs are, and assists them with love and compassion. Read More

"My almost-three-year-old asks every day if we can go to church. Thank you, Woodland Hills, and all the Heroes Gate volunteers for creating such a great environment for kids. My husband and I met at WH six years ago and now our son counts down the days until we get to go again. My heart could burst."
