February Update on Weekend Services

In case you didn’t catch the sermon this past weekend, it’s worth watching! But here, we also wanted to share the update Greg gave regarding the leadership’s decision to not yet re-open for in-person services. This decision is rooted in putting cross-like love at the center of our calling as a church. Read More

13th Documentary Discussion

Join Greg Boyd and Osheta Moore on Zoom for guided prayer and discussion based on the documentary 13th. This thought-provoking film explores the intersection of race, justice and mass incarceration in the United States. Its title was inspired by the thirteenth amendment abolishing slavery and involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for conviction of a crime. Read More

January Covid Update

Christmas Eve Coloring Pages

For years now, Woodland has kept the tradition of sharing a story with kids on Christmas Eve. Though we’re not gathering in person this year, we want to keep the tradition alive for our Christmas Eve Livestream. Here you’ll find some coloring pages to go with the story. Read More

Christmas Eve Service

We began our Advent series, Illuminate, a week later than according to tradition. Here at Woodland, we sometimes do things a little unconventionally, and that’s okay! All the same, we’ve been celebrating Christ’s arrival through this four-week series, and we’d like to invite you to join us for a final, special service on Christmas Eve, following the final Advent theme of Love. New Mini-series: Salt & Light

Salt and light are two of the most basic essentials of life, and in the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus uses them to describe our essential role as Kingdom people. The basic role of salt is to preserve and flavor. The basic role of light is to dispel the dark. As God’s people, our basic role is to bring the distinct flavor of the Kingdom into the world, and to use our light to push out the kingdom of darkness. Read More

An Update on In-Person Services

Like other churches around the world, our leadership teams have been in prayer and discussion regarding our return to in-person weekend services. Back in May, we made the commitment to hold off on gathering in the building until at least this fall. Since then, both the pastoral team and the church board have been regularly processing this decision. Read More

New Series: Sermon on the Mount

When Jesus started preaching, he announced there was a new Kingdom in town and everyone was welcome to join. But what exactly was he inviting them to? In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus lays out God’s vision for a whole new kind of world. In a way this sermon is his manifesto, his charter, his declaration for a new … Read More

Our Plan for In-Person Services

As the Coronavirus situation evolves, we want to keep you informed about how we are making decisions to move forward, and how we hope to work our way back to a more normal church experience. One major decision that’s been made is to wait to hold in-person weekend services until at least this fall. This feels like a significant loss, but we feel it’s the best choice given the state of our community. Read More

Grieving Together

Grief. Lament. Sorrow. For two weeks we have explored these emotions during our Sunday services. Now we feel the weight of them even more as we mourn the killing of George Floyd. And for many in our community, feelings of anger, confusion and fear are now taking hold. Please join us on Sunday as we try to make sense of this week of agony, and lament and grieve together.
