Peace

• Greg Boyd

When people think of peace, they often think of the absence of conflict. But God’s peace is much more holistic and reaches far into our souls and not just our actions. This shalom of God is about restoring our unity with the Father. In the third sermon of our advent series, we look forward to peace. wh-bug

  1. Gopher says:

There’s enough truth in this message to meditate on every day for 10 years.

  2. Kathy D. says:

Gopher, AMEN. SO much in this message, praise God. Thank you Greg. Thank you Lord, reveal truth to us, more and more, “from glory to glory.” May we align ourselves in every detail of our lives with the Holy Spirit’s leading.

I love the bubble idea. This works for me, as a recovering alcoholic (in February it will be 25 years, amen!), I’ve envisioned this bubble throughout my life, but not in the way presented in this message, so thank you Greg, I can move my bubble into my walk with Christ, hadn’t thought of that! And I love the idea of sealing the peace, joy, love of Christ inside the bubble – I’d always used my bubble to seal stuff out, which it will still do, but it will seal stuff in, now too!

I write on here now and then, usually in efforts to combine these messages with my life as an animal welfarist, and I’ve mentioned how hard it can be to find joy in the midst of what I see happening in the animal kingdom. I think now it is not so much that I cannot find it. It is that I have not committed to “living IN it”; it is that I have not envisioned it as a part of who I now AM IN Christ. Redefining Joy was also necessary for me, and I pray Holy Spirit, continue to show me the Joy that is mine because I am IN Christ and what that looks like, feels like, IS. Also, I pray that “peace that surpasses all understanding” permeate my life in the midst of what I see happening in the animal kingdom, and all around me! And for everyone reading this message, Peace and Joy in your lives.

Thanks again for your awesome messages, Greg. I don’t physically get to the church often, am so grateful for the podcast!

Beautiful Message On Shalom. . .

  4. Brian says:

This is so challenging, so strengthening, and so shockingly clear. Thanks.
