During our weekend services on August 11-12 we hosted Q&A sessions with Greg Boyd, our Senior Pastor, and Paul Eddy, our Teaching Pastor. If you’d like to listen to all the questions, note that there are separate downloads for the three different services. [This is the recording of the 9:00 Sunday service.]

  1. Can you speak to whether there are actually venial and mortal sins?
  2. If the Mars land rover (Curiosity) discovers evidence that life once inhabited that planet, does it argue against the Christian view that life on Earth is unique and created by God?
  3. Is abstaining from sex before marriage realistic? Are there any exceptions?
  4. How do we as Christians believe in a bible that has so many discrepancies? For instance, it varies in volumes for different branches of Christianity, it was created 300 years after Jesus’ death, and there are different interpretations of the same texts.
  5. Will our pets be in Heaven? Will they still remember us?
  6. My Calvinist friends say that God has two wills; a sovereign will and a moral will. Why do they believe this and do you agree?
  7. Do visitations from the dead exist? Are they a work of Satan, God, or neither?
  8. God is the creator of ALL things. So why did he create fear, anxiety, the devil, and etc…?
  9. The Old Testament authors say that God did violence, where you say that God simply allowed it. What justifies you changing the original meanings, and how does your cross-centered interpretation get God off the hook for violence?
  10. It says in James 4:17, if anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them. What are we to think of God when he doesn’t do all the good that he can do?
  11. How do you know if you’re “in Christ Jesus?” When I read those words, I feel like I’m reading someone else’s mail.

"We have been podrishioners for several months. Our daughter, son-in-law and grandkids moved back to California after living in MN for 10 years. They attended Woodland Hills for about a year before they moved. Now we all go to the beach together on Thursdays, come home and have dinner together, then we watch last Sunday’s sermon together. It is a special day for our family."
