Hurricane Harvey was a category four storm that struck in August 2017, causing devastating floods and many deaths. It takes years to recover from a disaster of that scale, and this is where MDS comes in, offering help long after the news coverage has moved on. Read More 


The Gift of Giving: Operation Joy

Each year leading up to Christmas, Heroes Gate (Woodland’s children’s ministry) decorates Christmas trees with mittens, teddy bears and red circle ornaments. Though the trees are beautiful, they serve a much greater purpose than just spreading holiday cheer. Each ornament represents a gift for a child in need. Recipients include WH attendees, The Refuge, The LIFT, Close to My Heart (preschool), Voice in the Wilderness, and other ministries. Read More 


The TAP: Just Be Yourself

If you want to join in on The TAP’s Kingdom-looking party, check out their upcoming A Very TAPPY Holiday Party on Friday, December 13 at Woodland. Along with all the usual festivities, there will also be other holiday surprises. TAP artists will be showcasing their art and crafts at the TAP Boutique. It’s an excellent opportunity to purchase unique Christmas gifts. Who knows, Santa might even be there . . . Read More 


Blanket Making Party

During Wednesday Together on December 11, we will transform the Gathering Area into craft central with all the supplies needed to make 40-60 no-sew fleece blankets for our neighbors in need. Christmas music, cookies and coffee will keep us crafting away, so come hungry for a treat and ready to sing along while you work. This is a family-friendly event, kids of all ages are welcome! Tiny Home, Big Splash!

Construction of this first home enabled Settled to reach many of their goals: successfully using volunteer labor, achieving safety certification, meeting Minnesota climate insulation standards, sticking to their budget and creating a manual for future construction teams to use. In other words, the house has made a great transition from theory to reality! Read More
