Stay Connected: Fall 2020

Our lives continue to be impacted by COVID, but that doesn’t mean we can’t stay connected as a church body! Perhaps now more than ever, it’s important for all of us to be active with other Kingdom people, doing Kingdom things. The formats may have changed, but church is still happening – we hope you take advantage of these online ministries and smaller in-person gatherings we have planned for this fall! Read More

Woodland’s Gathering Groups are an easy, low risk way to engage authentically with others while diving deeper into the weekend sermons. Shawna Boren, our Engagement Pastor, says, “Of course, there is a measure of risk any time you put yourself out there in a new way, but these groups are well worth it.” The Blaine, Minnesota Gathering Group can attest to this. An Update on In-Person Services

Like other churches around the world, our leadership teams have been in prayer and discussion regarding our return to in-person weekend services. Back in May, we made the commitment to hold off on gathering in the building until at least this fall. Since then, both the pastoral team and the church board have been regularly processing this decision. Read More

Around 2006, he was open to believing in a higher power, but had no understanding of God or the Bible. Later on, in an AA meeting he was invited to a service at Woodland by his friend, Kevin. He remembers feeling welcomed and experiencing church in a completely different way than ever before. Read More

Food Shelf Update

The Coronavirus has left many around the world struggling with food insecurity, and Minnesota is no exception: our food shelves have seen a spike in families and individuals needing assistance. For some, it’s their first time receiving this kind of help due to the rise in unemployment. In an article for KARE 11, Second Harvest Food Bank predicted a growing surge in hunger for Minnesota. They estimated that, “by August, more than one in eight people will be struggling to put meals on the table.” Hunger Solutions, another anti-hunger organization, believes that for many, food shelf visits have become “the ‘new normal.’” Read More

"So many thanks for your wonderful messages and all you give to the world around you. I'm retired in Ecuador with no churches so really appreciate your online presence. So many Christians discourage questions, so this is refreshing, as are the Q&A sessions."
