Words are powerful. Proverbs 18:21 says that our tongues hold the power of life and death. So, it seems, we are fully equipped to call forth God’s many blessings to those in need. The key in all of this is recognizing that God is at the center of it all. According to Christian writer Dallas Willard, “Blessing is the projection of good into the life of another. It isn’t just words. It’s the actual putting forth of your will for the good of another person. The current coronavirus pandemic has left a lot of us feeling stressed, anxious, depressed and alone. As the Body of Christ, we want to support those who are struggling by offering messages of hope. Though we’re not able to gather together in person, we can still bless one another the old-fashioned way – that’s why we’re accepting encouragement cards and sending them to people in our own church family, food shelf clients and our neighbors in long-term healthcare facilities. On Easter Sunday, we asked Woodland kids to participate in the service by creating art. We were overjoyed to receive an abundance of colorful and inspired masterpieces!
