I've heard the Emperor Constantine ordered bishops to vote certain books in or out of the Bible in the 4th century. Is this true? How do we trust that the right books were chosen?
I'm not a scholar I don't know what historical critical means, so if we need to understand history and context and the
first century how is an ordinary person with no training expected to understand all this?
