Summer Get-Together 2023

Posted on

We had a blast last year, and we’re so excited for our 2023 Summer Get-Together! This year it’s happening the weekend of July 14, 15 and 16. Check below for all the details! Coming in from out of town? Let us know!

Friday: MuseCast Live + Q&A

On Friday, July 14 we’re hosting a MuseCast Live + Q&A from 7-8pm! You’ll also be able to watch the livestream here.

Dan and Shawna will have Greg and Paul as their special guests, and they’ll be answering your burning questions about the Bible. Why is it trustworthy? What about some of those confusing, weird passages? How did these ancient texts get cobbled together as “God’s Book?”

Send in your questions to info@whchurch.org, or text to 651-321-3130 (we will not be taking questions live). After the Q&A, we’ll have refreshments and some mingling time – we hope you can join us!

Building Tour

Additionally, after the Q&A (as well as before the service on Sunday), we’ll be offering a tour of the Woodland Hills building. Get a peek behind the scenes, and see what areas are used by our partner ministries. We’ll meet at the south end of the Gathering Area by the Visitor Table at 8:15pm. Sign up here if you’re interested.

It should be a fun evening for all – and if you’re coming in from out of town, we’d love it if you let us know!

Saturday: Music Fest 2023

It’s that time of the year again! Music Fest will once again be a big part of our Summer Get-Together – a whole weekend of fun!

What: Music Fest 2023
When: Saturday, July 15 from 5:00-7:30pm
Where: Woodland Hills front lawn

Live Music
  • Zuriel Adam (Zuriel is one of our worship leaders for Childrens, Youth, and Young Adults)
  • J Squared (including Jerry Poindexter, one of our worship leaders and Elders)
  • Not Dead Yet (including Greg Boyd on drums)
Food & Fun

Music isn’t all though – we’re planning to have some lawn games and food available, too. Some snacks will be free, and burgers/hot dogs (including plant-based) and ice cream will be available for purchase. We’ll also have bubbles, sidewalk chalk and games for kids!

Bring a blanket or lawn chair, and a little something to provide shade if you like. It’s going to be such a fun summer evening – we hope you’ll make it!

Sunday Morning

Building Tour

Before our service on Sunday, July 16, join us for a tour of our building. You can get a peek behind the scenes, and see what areas are used by our partner ministries. We’ll meet at the south end of the Gathering Area by the Visitor Table at 9am. Sign up here if you’re interested!

Sunday Service

Our Sunday service will happen at our normal time – 10am!

Summer Baptism

After the service, join us for our Summer Baptism! We’ll meet on the front lawn at about 11:30am; light refreshments will be available. Join us as we celebrate our brothers and sisters who will be taking this important step in their faith!

Photo Scavenger Hunt

Throughout the weekend, snap and share photos of the fun for a chance to win one of five $50 Amazon gift cards.

Each photo you send in will enter you into the drawing – up to 20 times! Find the list and how to participate here.

Remember, if you’re traveling from out of town to join us for any Summer Get-Together events, please let us know so we can make sure you have a great time!

We can’t wait to share this weekend with you all!

Hi Christine – Unfortunately the Music Fest event on Saturday will not be live-streamed. However, we will be live-streaming the MuseCast live Q&A on Friday night (it will be linked on this page), as well as the Sunday service at 10am, as always. 🙂

My husband and I are coming out at least to the service. I so look forward to meeting the leaders of the church that I have been listening to since 2017. I’ll try to connect on email since I’ve attended a lot of the online classes as well. It would be really need to shake your hands if you’re there.

Is the music still outside with the air quality?

"I was inspired during my recent visit to your church, and wanted to thank you for the notable work you are accomplishing in the city. Thank you for being Holy Spirit first responders to the homeless and downtrodden. May God continue to show himself strong as you represent Christ daily."
