Practicing Kingdom Hospitality

From cover to cover, the Bible reveals God’s amazing hospitality towards us. He creates space for us, invites us into his family and prepares a place for us. At Woodland, we want to imitate God’s Kingdom perspective as much as we can, including his hospitality. That’s why every March and April, we open our doors to families in need through Project Home. The Growing Vision for Tiny Homes

After Woodland helped build the first tiny home model, Settled took it on the road to a variety of communities. One of their visits was to Faith Lutheran Church in Forest Lake. After interacting with Settled, the church felt called to pursue the possibility of creating a Sacred Settlement. Throughout the summer Woodland and Settled met regularly with Faith Lutheran’s leadership team, helping them navigate this topic with their members. Read More

Project Home is Coming

For the past eleven years, Woodland has been honored to act as a Project Home site where we provide overnight shelter for families in need of housing.
This year in March and April, we will be hosting families again and we need your help! If you’d like to volunteer, there are two shifts available: 5:30-8:30pm and an overnight shift from 8pm to morning. It’s a fun night of hanging with the families and providing food and shelter. All supplies and food provided, you just show up.  Read More

Communitas Twin Cities

Communitas Twin Cities is a missional community intentionally serving the homeless and impoverished in St Paul. For the past five years, they’ve gone OUT on the street and supported the community. That’s why Communitas has often been referred to as a “church on the street.” Now that they’ve partnered with Saint Mark’s Lutheran Church, they’re able to bring the community INSIDE and serve them in a much more relaxed and comfortable environment. New Series: Listen Up

We believe in a God who speaks and listens; a God who is interested in conversation with us. But what about the times when he seems silent? How do we even know what his voice sounds like? And how do we break through all the static to hear him? In this series we discover the ways we can cultivate a listening life. Read More

MLK Weekend

One of the events we look forward to every year is Martin Luther King, Jr weekend. As a church, we seek the kind of racial reconciliation and healing that Dr. King pursued in his life and activism. On Friday, January 17, we will screen the movie Freedom Song, and our weekend services on January 18-19 will focus on Dr. King’s vision for a more Kingdom-like world. "So many thanks for your wonderful messages and all you give to the world around you. I'm retired in Ecuador with no churches so really appreciate your online presence. So many Christians discourage questions, so this is refreshing, as are the Q&A sessions."
